Shutdown Superintendent
Job Description
• Supervise pulp and paper mill maintenance shutdowns on-site.
• Work closely with Mill Representatives with updates and/or concerns.
• Oversee quality of workmanship with ability to direct and delegate as needed
• Manage work activities for adherence to project schedule
• Maintain highest level of safety awareness
• Must be able to handle scheduling, work within strict deadlines and budgets.
• Work with Project Assistant with rental equipment requirements and Trico-owned equipment on jobsite.
• Assist in preparing bid proposals per request for quote.
• Timely generate project reports as required
• Ability and willingness to travel to domestic Project jobsites year round.
• Must be able to work with little or no direction.
• Able to work 12-hour shift; also including weekends.
• Understanding of shutdowns necessary to maintain schedules and minimize downtime.
• Excellent mechanical knowledge and experience involving pumps, piping, valves, motors and pressure vessels
• Good knowledge of mechanical codes and welding is expected.
• Must have experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and Outlook
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; able to communicate effectively with superiors, subordinates and customers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Minimum 10 years of heavy industrial (pulp & paper, chemical process, power, etc) maintenance experience.
