IT Desktop & Infrastructure Technician

Role Description:

Geneva Technologies Inc. (GTI) is seeking a versatile IT Desktop & Infrastructure Technician to manage day-to-day user support and maintain our physical network infrastructure. In this role, you will serve as the first line of in-house support for Windows terminal issues while taking full ownership of server room cable organization, ethernet drops, and physical hardware deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• End-User & Desktop Support: Provision, configure, and troubleshoot Windows 10/11 user terminals, laptops, and local peripherals.
• Physical Cabling & Wiring: Run, terminate (RJ45, punch-down), test, and trace Cat5e/Cat6 ethernet cables throughout facilities and drop ceilings.
• Cable Management & Rack Setup: Organize, label, and clean up server racks, patch panels, network closets, and workstation wiring.
• Hardware & Workplace Setup: Deploy network printers, desk mounts, dual monitors, and IP phones; handle physical equipment moves/adds/changes.
• Network & Connectivity Troubleshooting: Diagnose local hardware issues, switch port assignments, and baseline connectivity drops.

Qualifications:

• 0–3 years of experience in IT desktop support and low-voltage network cabling.
• Strong proficiency in Windows OS environments and basic Active Directory/Microsoft 365 user management.
• Hands-on experience with cabling tools (crimpers, punch-down tools, tone generators, and cable testers).
• Comfort with physical work, including climbing ladders, working in overhead spaces, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
