We are seeking a dedicated Funeral Arranger & Service Director to join our caring team.
Position Summary
The Funeral Arranger & Service Director serves as the primary point of contact for grieving families, guiding them through the funeral planning process from the initial arrangement conference through the final service. This role combines compassionate family care with the coordination and execution of funeral, memorial, burial, and cremation services, ensuring every detail reflects the wishes of the family and the memory of their loved one.
Key Responsibilities
• Meet with families to arrange funeral, memorial, and cremation services with sensitivity and professionalism
• Guide families through decisions regarding merchandise, service options, and pricing in accordance with FTC Funeral Rule requirements
• Coordinate all logistical details of services, including scheduling, staffing, transportation, clergy/officiant coordination, and vendor communication
• Direct and oversee funeral and memorial services, visitations, and graveside services to ensure smooth, respectful execution
• Prepare and review all necessary paperwork, including death certificates, permits, contracts, and insurance/pre-need documentation
• Coordinate with cemeteries, crematories, clergy, florists, and other third parties
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal funeral regulations
• Provide on-call support for first calls and family needs outside of standard business hours as needed
• Uphold the highest standards of care, professionalism, and respect for families and decedents
• Support community outreach and pre-need planning efforts as needed
Qualifications
• Funeral Director and/or Embalmer license preferred
• Prior experience as a funeral arranger, funeral director, or service coordinator preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with genuine empathy for grieving families
• Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm, composed, and professional under emotionally demanding circumstances
• Comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record
• Fluency in Spanish preferred
• Professional appearance and demeanor at all times

Base Salary
• $60,000–$75,000/year, depending on experience and licensure (dual Funeral Director + Embalmer licensure considered for the top of range)
