Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Link Equipment LLC is looking for an experienced and dependable Heavy Equipment & Class 8 Truck Mechanic to join our field service team. This position is ideal for a skilled mechanic who enjoys working independently, diagnosing problems in the field, and keeping heavy equipment and trucks operating safely and efficiently.

This position will operate primarily from a service truck, traveling to customer locations, jobsites, and equipment yards to perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy construction and industrial equipment.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain Class 8 trucks and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, and other mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Use diagnostic equipment and electrical test equipment to identify mechanical and electrical problems.
• Perform hydraulic troubleshooting and component replacement.
• Perform welding and fabrication when necessary.
• Complete repairs safely and efficiently with limited shop support while working in the field.
• Maintain accurate service records and document parts and labor.
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates on equipment condition and repair needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked service truck.
• Follow all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Respond to emergency and breakdown service calls when required.
• Perform other duties related to heavy equipment and truck repair as needed.
