About the Role:
The 1st Step Nursery & DCC Inc in Fort Lee, NJ is looking for a passionate and dedicated Teacher's Aide to join our nurturing early childhood team! Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate classroom activities and lesson plans
- Support children's social, emotional, and cognitive development throughout the school day
- Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, outdoor play, and transitions
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Provide individualized attention and support to children as needed
- Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents regarding child progress and daily activities
- Follow all childcare center policies, procedures, and state licensing regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Prior experience working with young children in a daycare, nursery, or school setting is a plus
- Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine love for children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain a safe and structured classroom environment
- Must meet NJ state childcare licensing requirements, including background checks
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
