Financial Controller

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Controller to join our hospitality organization and lead the accounting and finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, audit processes, and financial controls while managing a team of three.
The ideal candidate will have strong hospitality industry experience, proven management experience, and a comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance. A CPA is strongly preferred, but candidates without a CPA may be considered if they meet all other key qualifications.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the company’s accounting and finance functions.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of three accounting/finance professionals.
• Own the full-cycle accounting process, including month-end and year-end close.
• Prepare and oversee accurate and timely financial statements and management reporting.
• Lead the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, accruals, and other core accounting functions.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights to leadership to support business decisions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and overall financial efficiency.
• Partner with operational leadership across the hospitality business to provide financial guidance and support.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and other financial planning activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Hospitality industry experience – required.
• Prior management experience – required, with the ability to effectively lead and develop a team of three.
• Strong experience managing full-cycle accounting and finance.
• Proven experience with financial statement preparation, month-end/year-end close, and audits.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active CPA license – strongly preferred.
• Experience overseeing accounting for multiple hospitality locations, properties, or business units.
• Experience with financial systems/ERP platforms and accounting process improvements.

We’re looking for a true hands-on Controller and people leader who can take ownership of the accounting and finance function, manage a team effectively, and serve as a trusted financial partner to the organization. Hospitality experience and strong full-cycle accounting expertise are essential; a CPA is a significant plus but is not required for an otherwise exceptional candidate.
