Senior Accountant Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Industry: Technology Compensation: $100,000 – $120,000 base + bonus
About the Role Our client, a growing technology company based in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger activities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a collaborative team setting, and is eager to contribute to a company experiencing continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and reclassifications
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
- Support preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP
- Analyze account variances and provide explanations to management
- Assist with audit preparation, including PBC lists and support schedules for external auditors
- Reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, AP/AR, and other departments
- Assist with ad hoc projects, process improvements, and system implementations as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience, ideally within a technology or SaaS environment
- CPA a plus, not required
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close processes
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP); experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar ERP systems preferred
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a hybrid environment
