Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician with strong character and integrity to join our small team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience in diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional service, a great teamwork mentality, and maintaining high-quality standards in all repairs. Pay is hourly (no flat-rate), 40 hours weekly, 4-day (10-hour day) work week. After 34 years in business, we believe in work-life balance so your weekends are yours.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including foreign and domestic vehicles and diesel engines.
- Diagnose automotive issues using advanced automotive diagnostics tools and techniques.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to identify problems and develop effective solutions.
- Conduct vehicle alignments, powertrain repairs, and transmission servicing.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including auto estimating for customer transparency.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle's needs.
Skills
- Proven experience as a professional Automotive Technician or Service Technician, preferably in an independent shop setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, including electrical systems, powertrain components, and alignment procedures.
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for automotive repair.
- Experience in welding is preferred for certain repair tasks.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail to ensure quality workmanship.
- Strong character, unwavering integrity, and the ability to push through the busy times as well as the slow times without faltering.
- NC State Safety and Emissions Inspection Licenses are required. You must be able to obtain them within 90 days if you do not currently hold them.
- ASE certifications are required. Each position level has its own requirements. You must be able to obtain them within 6 months if you do not currently hold them.
