Job Description

Dental Assistant – Join Our Vibrant Beachside Practice in New Buffalo!

Are you a highly skilled and enthusiastic Michigan Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Unregistered Dental Assistant looking for an opportunity to excel in a practice that values comprehensive health and patient well-being? Come join our close-knit team in beautiful New Buffalo, Michigan, where the charm of a beachside town meets innovative dental care!

At our practice, led by Dr. Hillary Knight, we go beyond traditional dentistry. While we excel in all aspects of general dentistry, we have a unique focus on airway health and addressing insufficient palatal and jaw development in both adults and children. As our RDA or UDA, you'll be at the forefront of our back office, playing a crucial role in enhancing our patient experience and comfort. You'll work closely with Dr. Knight, a fellow dental assistant, a dedicated registered dental hygienist, our practice manager, and a patient coordinator. • A passion for patient education and comprehensive health.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a proactive approach to patient care.
  • A collaborative spirit and desire to contribute to a positive team dynamic.
  • While your responsibilities will include traditional Dental Assistant duties, we'll provide a detailed job description upon expressing your interest.

  • Proficiency in Dentrix and/or Ascend software is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
  • Certification in CPR or First Aid is desirable.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Take and develop X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including medical and dental histories, using Dentrix or Ascend software.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow as efficiently as a dental receptionist when necessary.
  • Support pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for children and assisting with their specific needs.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology and medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
