Refrigeration Technician

We are looking to expand our Capital Region team by adding a Refrigeration Technician to lead service on refrigeration appliances for our commercial clients. Company vehicle and mobile device is provided. Dispatch from home allowed from anywhere in the Capital Region.

Pay: $40-$50 - per hour starting rate *based on training/experience*.

• (A 90-day review includes a pay increase based on performance. Annual performance reviews include pay rate increases.)

Refrigeration Technician Responsibilities include:

• Demonstrating expertise in refrigeration or experience in servicing walk-in coolers, reach-in coolers, ice machines, and other commercial refrigeration appliances.
• Act as lead technician when completing diagnostics & repairs and preventative maintenance on commercial kitchen refrigeration equipment at customer locations and facilities.
• Producing accurate and timely administrative documents, such as work orders, time reporting, receipts, and truck stock inventory.
• Attend both in-house and national trainings to become certified by the industry's leading manufacturers.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 4-8 years of previous experience or training in the fields of mechanics and HVAC/R.
• Electric and Plumbing experience preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver's License. Clean driving record.
• Ability to follow directions and specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship. Maintain high-quality customer service and care.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

• Trade school or college certification in HVAC/R preferred.
• Certificates: EPA 608 and OSHA10.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
• Bonus if versed in hot side or specialty equipment.

Physical & Safety Requirements:

• Ability to frequently kneel, bend, squat, push, pull, reach, & occasionally lift & carry up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to work with moving mechanical parts, open flames, and heated surfaces and liquids.
• Ability to follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures.

Hours and Travel:

• 75% of travel to be completed in the Capital Region. 25% completed in surrounding areas, always with prior notification.
• Standard hours are Monday-Friday | 8:00 am-4:30 pm. This is subject to change based on customer schedules and management’s discretion.
