Job Summary

The Facilities Site Manager is responsible for directing and overseeing all site‐based services that support manufacturing operations. This role ensures the facility operates safely, reliably, efficiently, and in full compliance with regulatory and company standards. The Facilities Site Manager provides leadership across facilities, utilities, contractor services, and infrastructure while minimizing downtime, managing costs, and supporting production goals. This position partners closely with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and Site Leadership to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Operations & Facility Management

  • Lead day‐to‐day site services supporting manufacturing operations, including facilities, utilities, grounds, waste management, security, and janitorial services.
  • Ensure availability and reliability of building systems and industrial utilities (HVAC, electrical distribution, compressed air, water, steam, gas, etc.).
  • Coordinate site services to minimize production interruptions.
  • Manage site layout, space utilization, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Support plant startups, shutdowns, outages, and emergency recovery activities.

Maintenance & Reliability Support

  • Partner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Monitor performance and reliability of service‐owned equipment.
  • Support and manage capital projects related to facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure drawings, permits, manuals, and technical documentation remain accurate and current.

Health, Safety & Environmental (EHS)

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, local, and corporate EHS requirements.
  • Lead site service‐related safety programs and contractor safety performance.
  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee fire protection systems, emergency preparedness, and response planning.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non‐hazardous waste.

Contractor & Vendor Management

  • Select, onboard, and manage contractors and service providers.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage service‐level agreements (SLAs).
  • Control service costs while maintaining performance and safety standards.
  • Evaluate vendor performance using KPIs and scorecards.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with site safety and security requirements.

Budgeting & Financial Accountability

  • Develop, manage, and forecast site services operating and capital budgets.
  • Track expenses and ensure budget adherence.
  • Identify cost‐saving and value‐improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within approved budgets.

Leadership, Communication & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or coordinate site service personnel (direct and indirect).
  • Collaborate cross‐functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, and Corporate teams.
  • Prepare and present KPIs, financials, risk assessments, and improvement initiatives to leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, energy and sustainability programs).

  • Facility and utility uptime
  • Unplanned downtime attributable to site services
  • Preventive maintenance compliance
  • Service request response and resolution time
  • Emergency response effectiveness

Health, Safety & Environmental

  • Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR)
  • Safety audit and corrective action closure rate
  • Environmental compliance (zero violations or fines)
  • Contractor safety performance

Financial & Vendor Performance

  • Site services budget adherence
  • Cost per square foot / cost per unit produced
  • Cost savings and value‐improvement initiatives
  • Capital project delivery (on‐time / on‐budget)
  • Vendor SLA compliance (98%)

Leadership & Improvement

  • Energy efficiency and sustainability improvements
  • Continuous improvement initiatives implemented
  • Cross‐functional stakeholder satisfaction
  • Employee engagement and development (if applicable)

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • 7-10+ years of facilities management experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting. Experience in site services, facilities management or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience managing industrial utilities, facilities systems, and external contractors.
  • Strong background in EHS and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing site infrastructure and support services.
  • Proven leadership, problem‐solving, and decision‐making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze KPIs and convert data into actionable improvements.
  • Proficiency with CMMS, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present effectively to site and senior leadership.

Additional Requirements

  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must successfully pass background checks and drug/alcohol testing and comply with any ongoing testing per company policy and applicable law.
  • Must maintain eligibility for access to the manufacturing site and restricted areas.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, temperature variations, dust, and moving equipment.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the facility.
