About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Upfitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and testing specialized equipment in public safety vehicles, including law enforcement, fire, and emergency response units. This position plays a critical role in ensuring first responders have reliable, mission-ready technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and integrate in-car video systems, license plate recognition (LPR) systems, radios, lighting, sirens, and other electronic equipment
  • Perform vehicle wiring, routing, and secure mounting of components according to specifications
  • Configure and test installed systems to ensure proper functionality
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues as needed
  • Maintain accurate installation records and documentation
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
  • Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet deadlines
  • Some travel may be required, as our team members conduct installations both locally at our facility in Broussard, Louisiana and throughout our customer service region of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi

Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive electrical systems, 12V wiring, and electronics installation
  • Familiarity with public safety equipment (LPR systems, dash cameras, radios) preferred
  • Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and installation manuals
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift and maneuver equipment (up to 50 lbs)

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience as a vehicle upfitter, automotive technician, or similar role
  • Knowledge of emergency vehicle standards and best practices
  • Basic computer/networking skills for system configuration
