We are looking for a detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our clinical team. The LPN will provide patient observation and monitoring within our clinical unit, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with study and facility procedures.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide continuous and/or scheduled observation of patients within the unit.
- Monitor patients for changes in behavior, condition, mood, or physical status and promptly report concerns to the appropriate clinical staff.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly patient environment.
- Accurately document patient observations, activities, behaviors, and significant events.
- Follow all clinical protocols, facility policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with patient care and basic nursing needs as directed by the clinical team.
- Communicate effectively with nurses, providers, coordinators, and other members of the research team.
- Monitor patients during study-related activities and report any adverse events or changes in condition.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA and other applicable requirements.
- Complete required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist with unit activities and other clinical duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate professionalism and maintain a calm, respectful approach when working with patients.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted LPN license in the State of Ohio.
- Three plus years of clinical experience preferred.
- Experience working with behavioral health, psychiatric, neurological, or clinical research patients is a plus.
- Strong observation and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and established protocols.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable working in a clinical environment.
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- This would be for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
