Job Description
The Industrial Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment to ensure machinery runs safely and efficiently. Operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, this role requires expertise in electrical troubleshooting, new machinery installations, and a strong working understanding of PLCs and automated systems.
Responsibilities
- Installation: Set up new manufacturing facilities, machinery, and automation equipment. Perform inspections, adjustments, and repairs on production and facility systems. Install, dismantle, and overhaul heavy machinery.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose system failures in motors, generators, relay systems, electronic drives, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to prevent production downtime. Analyze electrical errors and mechanical breakdowns.
- Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance checks, test voltage and resistance, and maintain accurate equipment service logs.
- Projects & Safety: Lead electrical safety initiatives on capital projects. Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical specifications. Follow strict local/national electrical codes and utilize required PPE.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician preferred.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with expertise in PLCs, relay systems, and electronic drives.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, operate lift trucks, and work flexible shifts/weekends in a 24/7 operating facility.
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing and warehouse environment supporting a 24-hour, 7-day operation. The Industrial Electrician may be required to work flexible hours, weekends, or holidays as needed.
