Position Summary
Newco Welding is seeking a skilled Shop Welder / Fabricator to join our in-shop team in Baytown, Texas. The right candidate can read drawings, measure and lay out work accurately, cut material with an oxy-acetylene torch, and perform MIG welding using 70S-6 hardwire and flux-core processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-shop fabrication and welding work.
- Complete MIG welds using 70S-6 hardwire and flux-core processes.
- Read and work from shop and fabrication drawings.
- Measure and lay out work accurately with a tape measure.
- Cut material with an oxy-acetylene torch.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Hands-on shop welding and fabrication experience.
- Proficiency with MIG welding, including 70S-6 hardwire and flux-core.
- Ability to read drawings, use a tape measure accurately, and work to specified dimensions.
- Ability to cut material safely with an oxy-acetylene torch.
- Attention to accuracy, quality, and safe work practices.
