Facilities Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Technician to join a growing advanced manufacturing company supporting critical facility and production operations in Fort Worth, TX. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the building systems and infrastructure that support production, laboratory, and office areas.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems in an industrial, manufacturing, or commercial facility environment. You'll respond to maintenance requests, complete preventive and corrective work orders, troubleshoot facility issues, coordinate with contractors, and help ensure the site remains safe, clean, and operational.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on building and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and assigned work orders
- Conduct regular facility inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues
- Diagnose and resolve problems involving building infrastructure, equipment, and facility systems
- Complete maintenance activities and document repairs, parts, and inventory in the CMMS/SAP system
- Assist with equipment moves, facility projects, and setup/take-down of equipment for events or departmental needs
- Coordinate with external contractors, vendors, and service providers as needed
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts, and supplies
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and prioritize repairs based on operational needs
- Support a clean, organized, and safe facility environment
- Follow all company EHS procedures, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards
- Participate in maintenance training and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work closely with the Facilities and Maintenance team to support reliable day-to-day facility operations
- Work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as required
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Facilities Technician, Maintenance Technician, or similar role
- Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or large-scale facility environment
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and hydraulic systems
- Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot facility and equipment issues effectively
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and blueprints
- Familiarity with CMMS or maintenance management software, preferably SAP
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple maintenance requests
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting facilities within an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical maintenance experience
- Experience working with building infrastructure and facility systems
- Experience using SAP or another CMMS
- Experience coordinating with contractors and outside service providers
- Experience responding to emergency maintenance situations
- Experience supporting equipment moves, facility projects, or special events
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting and repair background
