Job Description
Certified Home Health Aides provide essential support to clients by assisting with daily living activities, offering companionship, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment. They play a vital role in supporting clients' health and well-being through transportation, meal preparation, medication reminders, and monitoring under RN supervision. Each aide typically cares for a single client per shift and provides personalized, empathetic care with opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Transport clients to medical appointments and errands
- Prepare meals according to dietary needs
- Perform laundry and light housekeeping tasks
- Administer medication reminders and monitor client condition
- Maintain accurate records of care and client status
- Ensure client safety and report concerns to supervising RN
Required Qualifications
- Entry-level experience in home health care
- Certified Home Health Aide License (CHHA)
- Knowledge of patient care and ADL assistance
- Basic nutrition understanding
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Ability to provide companionship and transportation support
- Capable of performing light housekeeping
- Empathy and sensitivity towards client needs
Preferred Qualifications
- Training for specialized care
- Experience working under RN supervision
- Willingness to engage in regular performance reviews
- Interest in advancing to nursing roles
