Experienced Veterinary Technician

Madison Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time experienced Veterinary Technician. A minimum of three years of professional experience working in a veterinary hospital/clinic is required. If you do not have at least three years of experience working in a veterinary hospital/clinic, unfortunately you will not be considered for this position.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure the safety and comfort of all pets in the hospital under direction of the doctor.
• Possess knowledge of veterinary procedures, surgeries, vaccines, treatments, diagnostic testing, medications, heartworm and flea/tick prevention.
• Able to place IV catheter and perform blood draws.
• Comfortable using radiology and other diagnostic equipment.
• Able to communicate with clients with professionalism and compassion, provide client updates and answer questions.
• Assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment for all staff, visitors and animals.

Requirements:

• Must be physically able to restrain, lift and handle all sizes of animals that are seen.
• Must be available Monday through Friday, between 7:30 am - 6:00 pm with rotating weekends, and occasional availability outside of regular hours
• Must be able to work closely with staff and doctors, as well as provide guidance and instructions to clients.
• Able to remain focused and professional in a fast paced environment, and in stressful situations.
• Must provide a high standard of care and be able to follow through with all assigned tasks.
• Computer skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• At least 2 years of continued employment of your last two jobs.
