School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Palm City, Florida

Step into an impactful opportunity supporting student growth in the Port St. Lucie area as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract position offers the chance to work on-site across 3-5 schools, collaborating with a diverse PreK–12 caseload. You’ll play a key role in implementing therapy plans, fostering positive student outcomes, and making a real difference in their educational experience.

Your skills in a school COTA setting will be valued as you work with teachers, therapists, and families to deliver individualized care and support. The position is set to begin as soon as possible and runs through June 1, 2027, with a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:

• Current, active Florida Department of Health OTA license
• Demonstrated experience supporting children and adolescents in an educational or pediatric setting
• Ability to adapt and collaborate across multiple sites (3-5 schools)
• Willingness to complete district fingerprinting; prior AHCA Clearinghouse prints may be accepted for streamlined credentialing
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Role Responsibilities:

• Work under the direction of Occupational Therapists to deliver direct and consultative therapy services
• Support PreK–12th grade students in achieving individualized education plan (IEP) goals
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and communication with educational teams
• Travel between school locations as required
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to optimize therapeutic outcomes and promote student engagement
