Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Lab Infrastructure Technician to support a server and networking lab environment. This role will be responsible for configuring hardware, maintaining lab infrastructure, supporting engineering teams, and managing inventory for testing and development activities.
Responsibilities:
- Configure and upgrade server hardware (CPU, memory, drives, NICs, adapters, etc.)
- Troubleshoot server and network hardware, including Cisco UCS and Nexus switches
- Support Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi environments
- Set up and maintain physical and virtual lab infrastructure
- Deploy bare-metal and hypervisor-based server environments
- Use hardware management tools such as CIMC, UCSM, and IMM
- Manage lab inventory, equipment tracking, and incoming shipments
- Partner with hardware and software engineering teams to support testing and development efforts
Qualifications:
- Experience supporting server hardware, data center, or lab environments
- Knowledge of Cisco UCS architecture and Nexus switches
- Familiarity with SSH, Telnet, virtualization, networking, and storage technologies
- Experience with Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi
- Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite in San Jose five days per week
Ideal Backgrounds: Data Center Technician, Infrastructure Technician, Lab Technician, Systems Technician, Network Technician, or Server Hardware Technician.
Compensation: $30/hr to $36/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
