K-9 School Speech-Language Pathologist

Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a part-time school-based contract position in Burnham, Illinois, for the 2026–2027 school year. This role will support students in kindergarten through 9th grade with primarily mild to moderate communication needs, with most students in 6th grade and below. Spanish-speaking skills are highly valued and would be especially helpful in supporting the school community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech and language evaluations and therapy services for students in grades K-9.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP goals.
  • Provide services to approximately 14 students receiving direct services through an IEP.
  • Provide consultation for approximately 9 additional students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and other members of the educational team.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed.

Caseload

  • Approximately 14 students receiving direct services through an IEP.
  • Approximately 9 students receiving consultative services.
  • Mild to moderate communication needs.
  • Majority of students are in kindergarten through 6th grade.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist licensure/credentialing required.
  • ASHA certification preferred.
  • Spanish language skills strongly preferred.

Experience

  • Previous school-based experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with elementary and middle school students is beneficial.

Skills

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a valuable asset for this position.
