Step into an impactful role as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting the needs of students across multiple educational sites near Independence, MO. This school-based contract position invites you to work closely with students at several local schools, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and shaping each student's success throughout the school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensed in Missouri
  • Experience supporting children or adolescents in a school or pediatric setting
  • Strong organization and time management skills to manage caseloads across multiple schools
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to quickly adapt and work autonomously with initial schedule support

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct therapy services to approximately 32 students, aligning with IEP goals and district requirements
  • Manage your own schedule, ensuring all assigned caseload students receive services weekly (around 800 minutes overall)
  • Document interventions, progress, and provide clear communication with supervising Occupational Therapist and educational staff
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment conducive to each student's growth
  • Participate in meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to maximize student outcomes

You will enjoy the flexibility to create your own daily schedule after initial guidance, serving students across elementary, middle, and high school settings. The assignment covers a leave, starting August 25th and ideally ending December 18th—though candidates interested in full school year coverage (through May 28th) are encouraged to apply as well.
