As a Transitions Intensive Teacher, you will support special education students aged 18 to 21, focusing on fostering life skills, job readiness, and community integration within a dedicated learning center. Your commitment and expertise will help shape students’ futures as they prepare for life beyond school.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license, or in process (proof required with application)
  • At least one year of classroom experience, ideally with special education populations
  • Demonstrated flexibility and collaboration as a team player
  • Strong writing skills for IEPs, BSPs, and documentation
  • Experience managing a classroom and working with students in both school and community settings

Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a caseload of approximately 12 students at the Transitions Center, fostering job and life skills
  • Develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans (BSPs)
  • Collect and analyze data to ensure students’ progress and compliance with established goals
  • Deliver instruction both in-class and in real-world environments, such as workplaces and community programs
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and external partners to design effective, customized learning opportunities
  • Maintain clear, concise records and communication with staff and families

This is a full-time, onsite role with a standard schedule of 8:00 AM–4:00 PM and includes daily paid and unpaid breaks. You’ll find valuable experience working as part of a supportive, mission-driven school environment, deeply impacting students’ abilities to thrive independently.
