School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Palm City, Florida

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential occupational therapy support within a dynamic school setting. A certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) is needed for an on-site contract position working across multiple locations in the Port St. Lucie area. This role focuses on assisting PreK through 12th grade students, offering an opportunity to foster growth, learning, and independence at key stages of development.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Active Florida Department of Health OTA license required
• Experience in pediatric or school-based settings preferred
• Ability to work across 3-5 schools in the region (locations to be determined)
• Familiarity with school systems and caseload management from early childhood through high school
• Must meet district fingerprinting requirements (transferable from AHCA Clearinghouse if previously completed)
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with educators, therapists, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct occupational therapy services to a diverse caseload of PreK-12 students
• Collaborate with licensed occupational therapists, teachers, and staff to implement student IEPs and therapy plans
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with district standards
• Provide support and adaptations in classroom environments to promote student participation and success
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed for student support planning

This contract role runs ASAP through June 1, 2027, offering consistent, meaningful work at 35 hours per week and the chance to positively impact student outcomes across multiple campuses.
