Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) this fall and winter. This full-time position runs from mid-October through early February, providing important coverage for a valued colleague on maternity leave. You’ll work primarily with a TK-5th grade caseload in an engaging elementary setting.
This role offers the chance to collaborate directly with an experienced supervising SLP, who values strong communication and teamwork. Before beginning, you’ll connect with your supervising SLP to ensure partnership and working style are a great fit—setting the stage for a successful, supportive school year. Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, active California SLPA license required
- At least 3 months of recent experience as an SLPA, preferably in a school setting
- Bilingual Spanish language skills are a bonus, but not required
- Eager to work collaboratively with a supervising SLP
- Clear background and reference checks
Key Responsibilities:
- Support speech-language therapy sessions for students in transitional kindergarten through fifth grade
- Carry out therapy plans designed by the SLP supervisor
- Track student progress and maintain thorough documentation
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for students from diverse backgrounds
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to IEP processes as directed
