Field Service Technician

Job Summary

Dynamic Welding & Equipment Service is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of in-field experience, effectively troubleshoot and repair various types of heavy equipment, MIG and stick weld, and properly operate equipment as needed.

Job Description

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment
• Perform advanced troubleshooting on mechanical, hydraulic systems and electrical systems
• Fabricate and weld components when required
• Perform preventive maintenance and annual inspections
• Complete both in-shop and field service work
• Accurately document all diagnostics and repairs
• Manage billable time and assigned work orders
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment
• Inspect, diagnose and repair diesel trucks and heavy equipment
• Communicate with operators to improve equipment reliability
• Repair and maintain equipment from a variety of manufacturers, including Vermeer, Ditch Witch, Caterpillar (CAT), John Deere, Komatsu, and other heavy equipment brands
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic information
• Maintain service truck inventory, tools, and equipment
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform emergency field repairs when needed

Field Equipment Technician Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid CDL license (not required, but preferred) with a satisfactory driving record
• Proficient in MIG and Stick welding
• Possesses his/her own tools needed to perform basic maintenance and repairs.
• Basic knowledge and ability to operate equipment in our fleet
• Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of gas, diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Exhibits good problem solving and troubleshooting skills; is able to identify problems, solicit other’s opinions and offer valid solutions.
• Ability to lift, push or pull 50+ pounds, climb heavy equipment, and bend, kneel and work with arms raised for prolonged periods
• Ability to work sometimes in extreme weather conditions
• Basic computer aptitude and data-entry skills
• Responds to company requests with a sense of urgency, treating Jobsite Supervisors as his/her highest priority. Takes personal responsibility, keeps commitments and follows through on requests. Has solid understanding of how his/her individual actions impacts company’s bottom line.
• Is able to project professionalism with both company supervisors and its customers, including personal appearance along with friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates and customers.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
