Sideloader Forklift

Job Overview
In this vital role, you will operate specialized side loader forklifts to efficiently load, unload, and transport heavy materials within our distribution center. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, materials handling, and warehouse duties will be needed. Summary

• Hours: 9:00am to 6:00pm or until work complete (usually no later than 7:00pm). Two 15 min breaks and a 30 min lunch.
• OT: AVAILABLE! May come in earlier than 9:00am to assist in operations.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday all major holidays off.
• Hourly Rate: $20hr
• Requirements: Fork truck operating experience

Duties

• Safely operate side loader forklifts to load and unload trucks, containers, and storage areas with precision and care
• Handle materials using various equipment such as pallet jacks, clamp trucks, and RF scanners for accurate order picking and inventory management
• Assist with order picking processes, ensuring correct items are selected using warehouse management systems (WMS) and pickers when applicable
• Participate in shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments, documenting movements, and maintaining accurate inbound/outbound logs
• Conduct routine inspections of heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, and other machinery to ensure safety standards are met in accordance with OSHA regulations
• Support warehouse operations by performing heavy lifting tasks and managing materials handling activities efficiently
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors on inventory control, space optimization, and safety procedures to uphold a secure working environment

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating side loader forklifts in a warehouse or construction setting with a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation
• Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes including order picking, shipping & receiving, and materials handling
• Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting for safe operation
• Certification in forklift operation preferred; OSHA safety training required or willing to obtain upon hire
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, crane operation, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and load & unload procedures highly desirable
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during order picking and inventory tasks
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
