Residential Generator Technician
Job Description
Residential Generator Technician | Generac, Kohler & Cummins
Keep Southwest Florida Powered When It Matters Most
United Electric is looking for a Generator Technician who takes pride in doing things the right way.
We're not looking for someone who just changes oil and moves on to the next stop. We're looking for a team member who cares about quality, pays attention to the details, communicates well with customers, and takes ownership of their work.
This position is focused primarily on residential standby generators, including Generac, Kohler, and Cummins systems. Most of our work involves maintenance, inspections, startups, testing, and light troubleshooting of air-cooled generators serving homeowners throughout Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
If you enjoy mechanical work, electrical systems, problem solving, and helping customers prepare for storm season, we'd like to talk with you.
Why Join United Electric?
At United Electric, our success is built on five core values:

We support one another, communicate openly, and work together to serve our customers.

We take responsibility for our work, our customers, and our results.
Work Ethic
We show up, work hard, stay focused, and continuously improve.

We take pride in quality workmanship and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
If these values describe how you approach your work, you'll fit right in.

We especially encourage applicants with experience in:
- Generator service
- Electrical work
- Automotive repair
- Small engine repair
- Military mechanical experience
- Equipment maintenance
What We're Looking For
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Ability to work independently and solve problems

What This Position Is NOT
To avoid confusion, this position is primarily focused on:
- Residential standby generators
- Generator maintenance and service
- Generator startups and inspections
- Customer interaction and preventative maintenance
This is not industrial generator work, diesel engine work, or large commercial power generation service.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience

- Paid holidays
- Paid time off
- Ongoing manufacturer training
- Certification opportunities
- Year-round work
- Opportunity to become a recognized generator specialist
- Supportive team environment with a strong culture
Join a Company That Values Its People
