The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Food & Beverage Assistant Manager who is passionate about hospitality, team leadership, and creating memorable guest experiences.
This role supports daily restaurant operations by leading and developing team members, maintaining high standards for food quality, service, cleanliness, and safety, and assisting with inventory, scheduling, cost controls, and overall operational performance.
The ideal candidate leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings the energy, accountability, and attention to detail needed to create an exceptional experience for every guest.
What You'll Do
- Support daily restaurant operations while maintaining high standards for guest service, food quality, cleanliness, and efficiency.
- Lead, coach, and motivate team members while promoting teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
- Assist with employee scheduling, onboarding, training, daily assignments, and performance feedback.
- Monitor service standards and promptly address guest questions or concerns.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety requirements.
- Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, product rotation, and waste control.
- Support management with monitoring labor, food costs, sales, and operational expenses.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS operations, and shift reconciliation as assigned.
- Maintain effective communication between front-of-house, back-of-house, and management teams.
- Ensure team members understand menu offerings, ingredients, allergens, and plant-based products.
- Support catering, promotions, special events, and other operational initiatives.
- Provide hands-on support wherever needed, particularly during peak service periods.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of restaurant, café, or food and beverage experience preferred, including supervisory or leadership experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and sanitation practices.
- Ability to coach, motivate, and lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to quality and detail.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory, labor, and cost controls preferred.
- Knowledge of or enthusiasm for vegan and plant-based cuisine is a plus.
- Food safety certification or ability to obtain required certification.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
