Customer Service Representative - JM
Job Description
A distribution company is seeking a Customer Service Representative who will process and input customer orders, create and monitor warehouse work requests, inbound/outbound material activity, and print order labels based on customer requirements. Work hours are Monday through Friday 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
Job Duties:
- Greet customers and carriers at the office window, answer office phone calls, process emails and orders, and run Inventory Reports
- Prepare work orders, bills of lading, shipping orders, inbound/outbound manifests, and other necessary documents
- Examine manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify the accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments
- Maintain correspondences with customers, including receipts, and invoices
- Provide assistance in answering the telephone, resolving warehouse inventory discrepancies, and providing backup to the warehouse
- Trace and record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes
- Work with other representatives to rectify damages, shortages, and non-conformance to specifications
- Resolve overages, shortages, and damages, document all correspondences, and schedule appointments
- Follow attendance policy, show up for work on time, and be ready to work assigned shift
- Adhere to the site’s quality and safety standards
- Perform other office duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years experience working in a warehouse or equivalent environment, preferred
- Basic computer skills required, familiar with Microsoft Office Programs, preferred, along with accurate data entry experience
- Must be capable of making sound judgment calls independently and performing daily tasks without prompting
- Must have the ability to learn quickly, work reliably and accurately, and perform well with the site team
- Must provide positive customer service and be capable of working successfully with strict time constraints
- Must communicate with employees, work as a team, and must be able to visualize and articulate solutions to a variety of problems
- Must have an articulate, professional, and upbeat phone presence
- Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
