As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Job Accountant to join our operations team.

Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager / Job Accountant will support project execution and financial tracking for multiple HVAC construction projects. This hybrid role blends operational support with accounting responsibilities, making it ideal for someone with a strong grasp of both project coordination and job costing within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities


Project Management Support

  • Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and change orders
  • Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation
  • Help coordinate material deliveries and field operations

Job Costing & Accounting

  • Set up and maintain job cost codes and budgets in the accounting system
  • Track and reconcile costs, labor hours, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly job cost reports and forecasts
  • Monitor billing schedules and support the preparation of AIA billings and progress billings
  • Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitability

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or general construction
  • Experience in both project coordination and job cost accounting
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
