As we continue to grow, we’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Job Accountant to join our operations team.
Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager / Job Accountant will support project execution and financial tracking for multiple HVAC construction projects. This hybrid role blends operational support with accounting responsibilities, making it ideal for someone with a strong grasp of both project coordination and job costing within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management Support
- Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation
- Track project schedules, budgets, and change orders
- Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Manage submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation
- Help coordinate material deliveries and field operations
Job Costing & Accounting
- Set up and maintain job cost codes and budgets in the accounting system
- Track and reconcile costs, labor hours, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices
- Assist in the preparation of monthly job cost reports and forecasts
- Monitor billing schedules and support the preparation of AIA billings and progress billings
- Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitability
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or general construction
- Experience in both project coordination and job cost accounting
- Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
