Windermere Pediatrics
Windermere Pediatrics is a small, independent pediatric practice seeking an experienced and dependable Part-Time Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working with children and has hands-on experience administering vaccines and injections.
This position will begin part-time, but for the right candidate, there is potential to grow into a full-time, long-term position with our practice.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
- Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and other measurements
- Assist providers with examinations and patient care
- Administer pediatric vaccines and injections
- Prepare vaccines for administration
- Properly document administered vaccines
- Assist with vaccine inventory and storage
- Perform basic point-of-care testing
- Collect and prepare specimens when necessary
- Maintain and stock exam rooms
- Follow infection-control and clinical safety procedures
- Assist with patient and parent questions within the Medical Assistant's scope
- Help providers and other team members as needed
Vaccine Experience
Previous hands-on experience administering vaccines and injections is required.
Pediatric vaccine experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should be comfortable administering vaccines to infants, children, and adolescents.
You should also be comfortable working with children who may be nervous, crying, moving, or resistant during vaccine administration and know how to safely work with parents and other clinical staff.
Required Qualifications
- Previous hands-on Medical Assistant experience
- Experience administering vaccines and injections
- Comfortable working with children and parents
- Knowledge of proper injection techniques
- Knowledge of basic infection-control procedures
- Dependable and punctual
- Friendly and professional
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team
Strongly Preferred
- Previous pediatric Medical Assistant experience
- Experience administering vaccines to infants and young children
- Familiarity with routine childhood immunizations
- Experience with vaccine documentation and inventory
- Experience with point-of-care testing
- Experience with PCC (Physician's Computer Company) or another EHR
Schedule & Growth Opportunity
This position will begin part-time with the possibility of becoming full-time based on performance, reliability, office needs, and mutual fit.
Some Saturday availability may be required.
