Physical Therapist Assistant

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) supports physical therapists in providing rehabilitative care to a diverse patient population across rehabilitation centers, inpatient hospitals, and outpatient clinics. Working under the supervision of a physical therapist, the PTA assists in executing treatment plans, guiding exercises, and monitoring patient progress to ensure effective therapy outcomes. This role requires collaboration within the healthcare team while maintaining independent responsibilities in patient care and education.

Responsibilities

• Assist physical therapists in delivering therapy and rehabilitation services
• Guide patients through prescribed exercises and therapeutic techniques
• Monitor and document patient progress and treatment responses
• Handle and maintain therapy equipment safely and effectively
• Support treatment planning and adjustment as directed by supervising therapist
• Educate patients on therapy goals, exercises, and safety practices
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
• Communicate effectively with patients, therapists, and healthcare team members

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in physical therapy assistance
• State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Knowledge of patient care techniques and therapeutic procedures
• Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation methodologies
• Strong communication, record keeping, and team collaboration skills
• Effective time management and empathetic patient interaction
