Logistics Planner

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Freight Broker to manage transportation logistics between shippers and carriers. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can build relationships, negotiate rates, coordinate shipments, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and freight carriers
• Source and negotiate competitive transportation rates
• Book and coordinate freight shipments from pickup through delivery
• Match available loads with qualified and reliable carriers
• Communicate shipment details, schedules, and updates to customers and carriers
• Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or service issues
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, rates, and customer information
• Negotiate pricing while protecting company margins
• Generate new business and identify opportunities to grow the customer base
• Ensure all transportation activities comply with applicable company and industry requirements

Qualifications

• Previous freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or sales experience preferred
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable working with transportation management systems (TMS) and CRM software
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics education is a plus
