We provide high-quality products and professional services in a comfortable, casual, non-corporate atmosphere with respect and appreciation for one another.Make a difference in YOUR life and become a part of the Hoover Family!What You Will Be Doing:The Senior Staff Accountant, will be responsible for recording financial transactions, analyzing financial information, and preparing reports with a focus on all accounting transactions related to high value inventory and fixed assets. In this role the senior staff accounting will take on traditional accounting duties as well as perform financial modeling.Your Day to Day Might Include:Daily (50%):Prepare reconciliations of sales, product purchases, and accruals for precious metalCreate financial models to investigate discrepancies and strengthen internal controlsMonitor reserves and controls over high-value itemsRecord wire transfers into General LedgerMaintain perpetual inventory ledgerUpdate reports and post transactions for operating bank accountsMonitor all leased metal balances & lease reporting and complianceReviews metal purchase orders for accuracy and calculates metal karat equivalents Review daily transactions and post non-operating payments What You Might Do on a Monthly Basis:Monthly (40%):Coordinate and prepare all month-end closing journal entriesMaintain accurate inventory records and ensure subledger-to-general ledger reconciliationsAssist with monthly financial reporting and analysisPrepare monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliationsTracks & Accounts for all outside refiner's settlements & charges including related monthly journal entriesResponsible for Monthly Metal Bank Compliance ReportWorking with coworkers on the production floor and utilizes problem solving during monthly inventory countReconciles Monthly Physical Inventory to General LedgerMaintain subsidiary ledger for two affiliatesQuarterly/Annual/As Needed (10%):Assist with audit requests and "Prepared by Client" schedules Assists with responsible metal documentation and annual auditProvide necessary audit schedules relating to inventoryResponsible for reporting as required by government agenciesReconciles subsidiary ledger and file sales taxAssists with the processing of customer balance refunds and payments for precious metalAssists with AP/AR functions and cross trains with AR/AP clerksWhat We're Looking For:Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in accounting required; exposure to manufacturing or production environment preferredBachelor's Degree Accounting preferred Proficiency in MS Excel is requiredAble to manage multiple priorities in a timely and independent mannerSelf-starter with the ability to complete projects from problem identification to solution implementationGood communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAble to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environmentAll candidates must pass an extensive background check, Credit, Criminal and Drug ScreenWhy You'll Like Working Here:Paid Time Off - 23 days (pro-rated first year)Eligibility for 401k, with Company Profit Sharing contributions Company contribution to your Medical and Dental plansCompany paid Life InsuranceVoluntary Vision and Supplemental Insurance Available Company paid Tuition Reimbursement for qualified courses Performance bonuses and Spot AwardsMonthly luncheons, cookouts and other fun activitiesDays Only - No Shift Work All applicants must complete the online application.
