HVAC Equipment Assembly Operator I
Job Description
Join SPX Cooling Technologies—part of SPX Technologies’ HVAC platform—where we build cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units that keep hospitals, data centers, and power plants running. You’ll learn, grow, and contribute to products trusted under Marley, Recold, and SGS.
You will- Assemble metal components on a bench or shop floor following controlled documents and simple instructions.
- Align parts, then secure with bolts, screws, and other fasteners.
- Operate drills, hand tools, and air impact wrenches safely and effectively.
- Deliver finished units that meet quality criteria and pass final inspection.
- Support general shop tasks and maintain strong housekeeping habits.
- High school diploma/GED; or 1–3 months related experience/training; or equivalent education and experience.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow straightforward instructions; write brief notes; communicate clearly in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Proficiency with basic arithmetic, including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Regular standing, walking, reaching, and manual handling of parts/tools; occasional climbing/balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Lift/move up to 25 lbs. regularly; close-vision tasks are common.
- Exposure to moving machinery and occasional fumes/airborne particles; earplugs required. Safety and housekeeping come first.
- Week Shift: 6:00am–4:30pm, Monday–Thursday
- Weekend Shift: 6:00am–6:30pm, Friday–Sunday — work 36 hours, paid for 40; overtime for hours beyond 36
