Electromechanical Maintenance Technician -- High-Speed Bakery
Job Description
Pro Services is partnering with a premier bakery in Plymouth, MI on a Direct Hire role to keep a fast, 24/7 production floor humming. Picture this: it’s lights-up on third shift and you’re the go-to expert keeping conveyors, baggers, tyers, ovens, coolers, sifters, mixers, and proof boxes running at peak performance. If you thrive on solving problems in real time and backing up your team when it counts, this is your lane.
A Night in the RoleYou’ll walk the line, listen for that off-kilter bearing, catch the small issues before they turn into downtime, and jump in when something needs to be rebuilt, rewired, or reset. One hour you’re swapping a gearbox; the next, you’re diagnosing a sensor on a PLC-controlled system or tightening a chain on a high-speed conveyor so production never misses a beat.
What You’ll Tackle- Preventive maintenance to keep ovens, belts, and interlocked systems reliable and safe.
- Troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC/HMI interfaces.
- Repair and replacement of motors (including three-phase), bearings, shafts, seals, gearboxes, belts, and bolts.
- Collaborating with production, sanitation, engineering, and fellow maintenance techs to maintain smooth operations.
- 3+ years as a Maintenance Mechanic in heavy industrial, manufacturing, or bakery settings.
- Hands-on conveyor experience—installing, aligning, repairing, and keeping them moving.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with comfort around three-phase motors and drive components.
- Basic PLC/HMI troubleshooting ability; food or bakery exposure is a plus.
- Calm under pressure in a fast-paced plant; a genuine team-first mindset.
- Bring your own hand tools: wrenches, Allen keys, jaw pliers, and a chain lock.
- Electrical: 110–240V single-phase and 480V three-phase; motors and relays.
- Mechanical: ability to rebuild assemblies and maintain conveyor systems.
- Pneumatics: foundational troubleshooting and repair.

- Shift: Third shift (nights), 5:00 PM–5:00 AM
- Schedule: Rotating 3-2-3 pattern; average ~48 hours/week
- Weekends: Every Friday and every other weekend
- Compensation: $34.41/hour base + $1.55/hour night shift differential
- Occasional lifts/pushes/pulls up to 100 lbs (under 1/3 of the shift); frequent walking (~50%) and standing (~30%).
- Regular kneeling and crouching; occasional work on ladders/scaffolds.
- Work around wet, slippery, and narrow surfaces; normal vision, hearing, and speech required.
- PPE: hairnet, safety glasses, ear protection, and beard net (as applicable).
- Mechanical troubleshooting; preventive maintenance and inspection
- Electrical/electronic systems; electrical troubleshooting
- Industrial electrical experience: 120/208/240/480V
- Conveyor chain replacement; conveyor system upkeep
