Job Title: Subcontractor Coordinator

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Subcontractor Coordinator to support a large-scale Pulp & Paper construction project currently ramping up toward a 40+ day plant outage in the fall of 2026. This is a field-oriented role responsible for coordinating subcontractors from mobilization through project closeout and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Manage subcontractors cradle to grave, including mobilization, execution, progress tracking, change management, and closeout.
- Maintain a strong field presence to observe subcontractor work, identify issues, and proactively remove barriers to progress.
- Coordinate subcontractor, supplier, and field activities to support safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Assist with project administration including contracts, procurement, documentation, proposals, estimates, and turnover.
- Review and respond to questions regarding drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and change orders.
- Assist with preparation and administration of change orders, including time extensions.
- Monitor subcontractor progress and help identify and resolve schedule, quality, and coordination issues.
- Maintain effective working relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project team members.
- Support project closeout, including O&M manuals, warranties, as-builts, and other required documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating subcontractors on large-scale construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, project coordination, and project management principles.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
- Knowledge of construction safety standards, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven field environment.
- Pulp & Paper, industrial, manufacturing, or heavy construction experience preferred.
- Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits.
- Must be comfortable working around loud noise, dust, debris, and other construction-related hazards.
