Job Description
Make an immediate impact by supporting students’ communication needs in a dynamic school setting. This contract opportunity is perfect for skilled Speech-Language Pathologists who are passionate about fostering student growth through both therapy and evaluations. You’ll work with manageable caseloads (not exceeding 60 students) and collaborate with dedicated educators and administrators.
Openings are available across multiple elementary and magnet schools, with opportunities to work in both base and split-campus settings. The schedule consists of 37.5 hours per week, all onsite, with assignments running from now through late May 2027.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active AL ASHA Certification required
- Alabama Educator SLP Certification required (may start with pending status)
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to conduct both therapy sessions and comprehensive evaluations
- Commitment to ethical, student-centered practice
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted speech and language therapy services to K-12 students
- Perform thorough assessments and evaluations as required
- Document student progress, write reports, and develop individualized plans
- Work closely with teachers, other specialists, and families to support students’ needs
- Rotate between assigned campuses if placed in a split-campus role
