Teacher's Aide - Andover, Minnesota

Make a meaningful impact supporting students with significant special needs by working as a Paraprofessional near Andover, MN. This contract position involves working 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, at a specialized setting where students receive Special Education services throughout their school day. You’ll be based at a site that serves elementary through high school ages—indicate if you have a specific age group preference.

Excellent candidates demonstrate patience, compassion, and a genuine commitment to working with students who may exhibit high behaviors and have complex needs. Comfort with tasks such as toileting assistance is essential, as is being highly qualified per Minnesota state standards.

Qualifications:

• Meet highly qualified paraprofessional requirements by ONE of the following:
  • Pass the Minnesota Board Paraprofessional Exam (Para Education Exam)
  • Have a minimum of 60 college credits (official transcripts required)
• Experience, comfort, and willingness to work with students exhibiting significant disabilities and behavioral challenges
• Flexible working with ages ranging from elementary to high school
• Ability to provide personal care assistance, including toileting
• Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom instruction and individualized educational plans under teacher guidance
• Encourage student engagement in daily lessons and activities
• Provide behavioral support and positive redirection
• Offer personal care support as needed
• Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
