Step into a rewarding role supporting students’ developmental and educational goals as a contract Occupational Therapist in a school-based setting near Dekalb, IL. In this meaningful position, you’ll partner with educators, families, and other professionals to help children achieve success both in and out of the classroom.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Valid licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in Illinois
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting is strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pediatric, sensory, and developmental interventions
  • Strong assessment and evaluation skills to develop individualized treatment plans
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for working with multidisciplinary teams
  • Passion for empowering students with diverse needs

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and evaluating students to determine their functional abilities and needs
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized intervention plans tailored to student goals
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to maximize student participation and performance in academic and social settings
  • Providing direct therapy services to students one-on-one or in small groups
  • Maintaining thorough and timely documentation, progress reports, and required paperwork
  • Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and supporting the special education team
  • Offering staff training or classroom strategies as needed to support student needs
