Step into an impactful educational setting supporting K-12 students in special education classrooms as a paraprofessional. Contribute your skills and compassion at multiple school sites throughout the academic year, building meaningful relationships while collaborating with dedicated teams of teachers, aides, and therapists. Positions are available across elementary, middle, and high schools, with a flexible start on August 25th through May 28th.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist students in SPED classrooms, including 1:1 or general classroom support roles
- Provide help with toileting, changing, and managing various behaviors as needed
- Implement instructional and behavior intervention plans to foster student growth
- Collaborate daily with educational professionals to meet unique student needs
- Move between sites within the district as required for coverage
- Work flexible hours based on school assignment:
• Elementary: 8:30–4:00 or 9:00–4:30
• Middle: 7:00–2:30
• High: 7:30–3:00
What We’re Looking For:
- Active Missouri Substitute Certificate (visible on the DESE website) or successful ParaPro Exam plus transcripts submitted
- Comfort working with personal care (toileting, changing) and behavioral challenges
- Flexibility to work at more than one school site, adapting to changing needs
- Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams is a plus
- Reliability and a commitment to treating every student with dignity and respect
