Step into a rewarding contract role serving the Port St. Lucie area, where you’ll support students from PreK through 12th grade across 3 to 5 school campuses. This on-site opportunity is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) passionate about making an impactful difference in a school setting.

As a valued partner in a collaborative educational environment, you’ll contribute creative therapy interventions that help students develop crucial everyday skills. You will work closely with therapists, teachers, and families, fostering growth and participation for students with diverse needs.

Ideal candidates bring:

  • An active Occupational Therapy Assistant license through the Florida Department of Health
  • Experience in, or enthusiasm for, working in school-based settings
  • Flexibility to work with students from early childhood through high school
  • Excellent communication skills for partnering with educators and families
  • Ability to adapt and provide quality services at multiple school locations
  • Efficient time-management skills and comfort navigating diverse caseloads

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT in accordance with students’ IEPs
  • Supporting student participation in classroom, social, and daily living activities
  • Collecting data, documenting student progress, and maintaining records as mandated
  • Coordinating scheduling and travel between assigned campuses
  • Completing required district credentialing, including fingerprinting (district can utilize AHCA Clearinghouse records if previously completed)
