Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Fort Pierce, FL

Step into a rewarding role supporting students across multiple schools in the Port St. Lucie area as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a direct impact on PreK–12th grade students by helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential. You’ll collaborate with OTs, educators, and families, providing therapeutic support where it’s most needed.

Key Qualifications:

• Current, active Florida DOH OTA license required
• Previous experience in an educational setting preferred, especially with the PreK–12th grade age range
• Ability to travel between 3–5 assigned school sites within the district
• Clear and professional communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational abilities to manage a varied caseload and adapt to multiple school environments
• Must meet district credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance (candidates already in the AHCA Clearinghouse may expedite this process)

Role Highlights:

• Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT
• Support student IEPs and education plans through adapted activities and accommodations in classroom settings
• Document progress and maintain compliance with documentation guidelines
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success
• Provide services on-site across several campuses; reliable transportation required
• Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute strategies for student growth
