Job Description

Step into an essential role serving students across multiple campuses in the Port St. Lucie area. This contract opportunity is perfect for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) seeking in-person work supporting a diverse school community. With responsibilities spanning 3-5 schools and engaging with students from PreK through 12th grade, you’ll work collaboratively within educational teams to help students achieve their fullest potential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Florida Department of Health Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license required
  • Demonstrated experience or training in school-based occupational therapy is highly preferred
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments across several sites
  • Understanding of age-appropriate therapy practices, from preschool through high school
  • Readiness to complete time-sensitive credentialing, including district fingerprinting (AHCA Clearinghouse participation expedited if already cleared)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students as prescribed in IEPs, targeting fine motor, daily living, and sensory processing skills
  • Conduct assessments, collect data, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to measure student progress
  • Adapt and modify therapeutic strategies to address the unique needs of each student and educational setting
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with district policies and state guidelines
  • Travel between assigned schools within the Port St. Lucie area to provide on-site services

This contract begins as soon as possible and runs through June 1, 2027, offering a consistent 35-hour work week. You’ll make a meaningful impact while working closely with educators, families, and other professionals.
