Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Illinois, or ability to obtain prior to start
  • Recent experience in a school environment or pediatric setting preferred
  • Solid understanding of IEP processes and documentation standards
  • Proven skills in assessment, intervention planning, and delivery of direct services
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to determine students’ physical therapy needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and interventions
  • Document progress and prepare reports for IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to ensure goals are integrated into the school day
  • Provide education on mobility, motor skills, and equipment for students and staff
  • Adapt therapeutic strategies to accommodate diverse student needs in both individual and group settings
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines in all documentation and service delivery
