Take the next step in your teaching career supporting students who are visually impaired! We are seeking an adept professional to provide direct and consultative services within an educational environment, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through late May 2027. This is a full-time, onsite contract role with a floating assignment structure, allowing for a dynamic experience across varying locations and student needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field with TVI emphasis
  • Previous experience working with visually impaired students in a school setting preferred
  • Familiarity with an array of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and specialized teaching strategies
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities
  • Up-to-date knowledge of state and federal regulations for special education
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical practices

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small group instruction to visually impaired students, adapting materials as needed
  • Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, orientation & mobility specialists, and other professionals to support student inclusion
  • Consult with educators, families, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Participate in IEP meetings, student assessments, and team conferences
  • Monitor student progress, complete documentation, and maintain communication with all stakeholders
  • Offer training and guidance regarding assistive technology and accessible instructional materials
