Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a paraprofessional within a diverse, dynamic Missouri district. This role offers a unique chance to provide impactful support across multiple campuses—including 22 elementary, 6 middle, and 5 high schools—making a tangible difference every day. Flexibility is valued as placements may shift throughout the school year, enabling exposure to a range of ages and abilities.

Your responsibilities will be varied, from 1:1 student support to general classroom assistance in special education settings. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, aides, therapists, and other support staff to foster success and ensure students’ dignity and safety are prioritized. Implement behavioral intervention and instructional strategies, assist with toileting, changing, and manage behavioral challenges professionally and compassionately.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Substitute Certificate (verify on DESE website) or ParaPro Exam completion with transcripts on file (required before interview)
• Prior experience supporting K-12, especially with special education populations
• Comfort providing toileting/changing assistance and working with a variety of student behaviors
• Adaptable to working at multiple school sites and grade levels
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to student growth

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 or class-wide paraprofessional support in special education environments
• Follow behavior intervention plans and adapt instructional strategies
• Ensure all support is delivered respectfully and effectively
• Communicate regularly with educational team members to support individualized student needs

Schedules vary by school level:

• Middle school: 7:00–2:30
• High school: 7:30–3:00
• Elementary: 8:30–4:00 or 9:00–4:30

Contract runs August 25 – May 28. Candidates must be comfortable with districtwide assignments and completing necessary background checks and prints.
