Job Description
Step into an impactful role supporting students’ communication and learning during a maternity leave assignment for a Speech-Language Pathologist in North Chicago. This full-time contract position runs from September 4, 2026, to December 11, 2026, offering a dynamic environment for professionals dedicated to fostering speech and language development in elementary and middle school students.
In this position, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and families to create supportive, individualized plans for a diverse caseload. Working exclusively onsite, you’ll have the opportunity to develop meaningful connections with students and be an integral part of the school community through the fall semester.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Active Illinois SLP license (required)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Experience providing therapy and assessments in school settings
- Familiarity with IEP processes and effective documentation practices
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and families
- Commitment to an onsite-only role for the contract’s duration
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct therapy sessions for elementary and middle school students
- Conduct assessments, develop IEP goals, and maintain accurate documentation
- Collaborate on multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for students
- Communicate progress and strategies with families and educational staff
- Adapt therapy techniques to best meet students’ unique needs
