Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:Underwrite mortgage loan files for agency compliance and investor guidelinesVerify and analyze all necessary financial information and documentation; ensure that loan files contain all necessary credit and legal documents. Approve or approve with conditions loan submission after careful consideration and explore possible alternatives before resorting to a suspense or denial.Assess the risk to the company and our investors to ensure salability of the loan after closingPerform thorough analysis of applicant's income and expense data, asset documentation, credit reports, and property valuations in order to affirm borrower qualifies for loan.5 years of experience underwriting FNMA, FHLMC, and Non-Conforming mortgages is a plusRe-reviewing files, signing off on conditions, and moving files to clear to closeWork closely with operations staff while identifying opportunities to mentor and coach them increasing their knowledge and efficiency
